Utorrent now installs the damn toolbar even when you explicitly say not to, and yes, I got the software directly from utorrent.
*It also restarts your browser without any warning* to do it.
I just lost a lot of work-related research I was doing when it restarted, and of course I am still stuck with the toolbar after uninstalling utorrent.
    FAIL

The latest version of uTorrent 3.2.3 is the worst. It didin’t download anything when finishing the torrent file with many files inside.Avoid using it.Better use the 2.x version.

Sorry to have to say it (since I have been a BIG fan of utorrent) but I have some agreement with John (23 Dec 2012). Even after upgrading to the latest and greatest, I have had utorrent hang when it is supposed to be responding to a magnetic link. And that little dialogue box telling me utorrent is running but not responding is repetitive and useless and annoying. It is pretty obvious that it is running and not responding. They could be more honest and say “I’m sorry, but at this moment utorrent cannot find its ass with both hands”. I have had waits of about a minute and a half before utorrent tells me it is lost in the woods. And then there are the white-out screens where you see the title bar above but the rest of the screen is just white…sometimes lasting up to four minutes while utorrent is doing something other than displaying what files are downloading, etc. I am about to roll back to a much earlier and STABLE version of utorrent.

Bittorrent is now plastered with ads, I think its rating deserves to go down a few notches simply for the bad taste that leaves in one’s mouth.

Even though all the download settings are set to zero, uTorrent seems to have a mind of its own and downloads data between 15-45 MB a day for no reason at all. It didn’t used to do it in earlier versions but its gotten worse lately ! Now their latest version has got a stupid advert banner along the top. Theirs no way I’d buy this product !
All I want to do is act as seeder but uTorrent won’t let me.
Their support is non existent & they act like an exclusive geeks club ! Can anyone tell me how to Google search for alternatives ?

Maybe look for Transmission? I googled the keywords ‘bittorrent transmission windows’ to get the right link. It’s a program designed for linux but some people have created Windows ports for it. Since it’s open source it’d probably be hard to get support for it though, outside of the usual google/forums/irc.

Download ‘uTorrent version 3.3.2 Stable’, it is much better than its older versions. It also has a very fast rate of download when dealing with more files. It don’t install any adware after choosing the ‘No’ option from the install menu. It have never hanged or stuck after since I have used it for 2 months.
